Armenia ex-economy minister Kerobyan taken into custody

Armenia’s former economy minister Vahan Kerobyan has been taken into custody.

Axar.az informs, citing Armenian media, this information was confirmed by his brother, Avetik Kerobyan, who added that his brother’s house was searched.

Avetik Kerobyan stated, however, that the search is not related to his brother’s tenure in the aforesaid capacity. Now they are trying to find out the reason for these actions of law enforcement agencies.

Vahan Kerobyan is facing a case on corruption abuses. On February 16, 2024, a house arrest measure was applied to him for a period of two months. And on April 13, his house arrest was extended for another two months.
