EU to tighten sanctions on Belarus

Against the backdrop of the warming of US relations with the Belarusian leader and the easing of sanctions against the Lukashenko regime, the European Union plans to tighten measures against Belarus.

Axar.az reports, citing the DV publication.

The EU has reportedly begun preparing a new 20th package of sanctions against Russia. On Friday, Lithuanian Finance Minister Kristupas Vaitiekunas and European Commissioner for Financial Services Maria Luis Albuquerque discussed the issue at a meeting.

The Lithuanian politician noted that Europe should increase pressure not only on the Kremlin, but also on its ally in Belarus, especially given the regular hybrid attacks launched by the Lukashenko regime against its neighbors.
