Hungary granted an indefinite US sanctions exemption

Following the meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and US President Donald Trump at the White House on November 7, Hungary has been exempted from sanctions for an indefinite period.

Axar.az reports that these words were made by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó while refuting Western media reports about sanctions.

“Those who claim otherwise did not participate in the negotiations. It is much easier to talk to those who were there,” the Hungarian minister said.

It should be noted that the US will completely lift sanctions against the construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant (NPP) in Hungary, designed by Rosatom.
