Japan has allocated $53 million in financial aid for Syria.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yohei Onishi during his visit to Damascus.

It should be noted that Deputy Foreign Minister Yohei Onishi is the first Japanese official to visit Syria in 15 years. Japan suspended economic relations with Syria in 2011.
