Turkiye eyes F-35s, modernizes air force

In accordance with the needs of the Turkish Air Force Command, activities aimed at acquiring modern combat aircraft equipped with advanced technology and diversifying the inventory will continue until our national combat aircraft KAAN enters service.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

“We believe that the lifting of CAATSA sanctions will accelerate cooperation in the defense industry between the United States and Turkey. Work is ongoing to remove these sanctions and purchase F-35s,” the statement emphasized.

It should be noted that earlier, US President Donald Trump announced his very serious thoughts on selling F-35 aircraft to Turkiye.
