5.7-magnitude earthquake hits Japan

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Japan.

Axar.az reports that the country's National Meteorological Administration said the epicenter of the earthquake was east of Iwate Prefecture, in the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of 30 km.

No casualties or damage were reported, and no tsunami threat was announced.
