US and Ukraine eye long-term $800bn agreement

The governments of the United States and Ukraine will sign a bilateral agreement worth $800 billion on post-war reconstruction and security guarantees.

Axar.az reports that Britain’s The Telegraph newspaper said this, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, US President Donald Trump may meet with Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where they will discuss all details of the future agreement.

Under the plan, $800 billion is expected to be allocated over several decades. This is expected to help Ukraine attract a range of investments, including from private companies.

The newspaper did not report whether an agreement on creating security forces to be deployed in Ukraine would be signed during the Davos meeting.
