Azerbaijan-US remittances rise sharply in 2025

In 2025, the volume of personal money transfers from Azerbaijan to the United States reached $76.397 million.

Axar.az reports the Central Bank of Azerbaijan released the information.

This represents an increase of $15.972 million, or 26.4%, compared to 2024.

During the reporting period, the United States accounted for 15.1% of all outgoing remittances from Azerbaijan, making it the second-largest recipient after Turkiye.

Conversely, personal remittances from the United States to Azerbaijan totaled $100.718 million in 2025, up $35.7 million, or 55%, from 2024. The U.S. accounted for 8.6% of all incoming remittances to Azerbaijan.

For comparison, in 2024, remittances from Azerbaijan to the U.S. were $60.425 million, while transfers from the U.S. to Azerbaijan were $64.984 million.

Overall, personal money transfers from Azerbaijan to foreign countries in 2025 amounted to $505.139 million, down $21.6 million, or 4.1%, from 2024. In the opposite direction, remittances from abroad to Azerbaijan reached $1.177 billion, up $94.1 million, or 8.7%, over the same period.
