Iran FM and US envoy discuss protests

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff have discussed protest actions.

Axar.az reports, citing anonymous sources quoted by Axios.

According to the sources, the sides also discussed holding a meeting in the coming days.

According to the sources, it was not specified whether the contact between Araghchi and Witkoff took place by phone or via written communication.

The White House and the U.S. State Department did not respond to Axios’s request for comment.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that a communication channel between Araghchi and Witkoff remains open and is used to convey messages between the two sides when necessary.
