Turkiye plans to open a border crossing with Armenia

Turkiye intends to open a border crossing with Armenia by the end of this month.

Axar.az reports that work is ongoing at the Alijan border crossings in the Garagoyunlu district of Igdir province and the Margara border crossing in Armenia's Armavir province.

On the Turkish side, buildings for customs and related procedures are being constructed, and information boards have been installed for those arriving from Armenia, directing them to travel to Igdir and the surrounding areas.

Igdir Governor Ercan Turan said that preparations are ongoing and that, according to plans, the crossing will be put into operation by the end of the month after the military post is relocated and the territory is handed over to the Ministry of Trade.
