Traffic police warn of unstable weather conditions

The Main State Traffic Police Department has appealed to drivers regarding the unstable weather conditions expected in Azerbaijan from January 17 to 22.

Axar.az reports that, according to the information provided by the department, the appeal requires road users to be more careful and prepared.

"Against the backdrop of the difficulties caused by the snow falling on the roads in mountainous and foothill regions during the week that is coming to an end, the worsening weather conditions require road users to be more careful and prepared. The possibility of ice formation on roads in the morning and evening hours, especially in open areas where the snow has not melted, as well as in open areas exposed to wind, on uphill and downhill roads, and on bridges, should not be ignored."

The information also emphasized that the State Traffic Police officers, together with relevant agencies, are taking preventive measures to eliminate the complications that rainy weather conditions may cause on the roads and ensure the safe movement of road users.

Considering that traffic intensity will increase on highways, especially during the weekend, the BDYPI asked drivers preparing for trips in the coming days to not forget about the possibility of icy roads, not to drive with cars with worn-out tires or not suitable for the season, inexperienced drivers not to get behind the wheel, and individuals and legal entities engaged in passenger transportation to prefer safer routes.
