Kazakhstan to restrict social media access for under-16s

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information has drafted bills to restrict access to social media for children and teenagers under the age of 16.

Axar.az reports that this information was released by the press service of the Kazakh government.

According to the report, the draft laws have already passed expert review and have been submitted for public discussion.

‘To implement these measures, mechanisms for verifying the age of social media users and liability measures for violations are planned,’ the statement said.
