The publication notes that during the economic forum held in Davos this week, there was a clear difference in the tone of speeches by US and Chinese officials. While Trump aggressively criticized Europe's economic, energy, and migration policies, as well as threatened allies with new customs duties, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng made a partnership proposal.

"Ladies and gentlemen, friends! China is not a competitor, but a partner! The Chinese economy has undergone reform and is open: we welcome all companies from around the world who want to cooperate with us," he said.

Harvard University economist and professor Kenneth Rogoff noted that China is a leader in many key areas that will play an extremely important role in the future.
