Working-level Russia-France talks are under way

Russia and France are indeed in contact at the working level, but there is nothing significant in these exchanges, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing, commenting on reports from Paris about technical preparations for possible contacts between Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin.

Axar.az informs, citing TASS, “At present, we cannot say that there are any substantive contacts at the highest level,” Peskov said. “There are certain contacts at the working level, but so far there is nothing noteworthy to report.”

French President Emmanuel Macron told journalists the day before that preparations were under way for contacts with the Russian leader. He added, however, that he is also holding consultations on the matter with EU leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Macron did not specify when such talks might take place.
