Britain reinforces Akrotiri airbase amid Iran tensions

The UK government has deployed additional fighter jets to its Akrotiri airbase in Cyprus amid heightened tensions around Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing The Times, that six RAF F-35B fighter jets departed from RAF Marham yesterday and were sent to the Akrotiri airbase, where Eurofighter Typhoon jets are already stationed.

It should be recalled that on January 22, the UK Ministry of Defence announced the deployment of Typhoon fighter jets to Qatar at the request of local authorities.
