Ardabil railway to be connected with Azerbaijan

Connecting the Ardabil railway to the Mugan region, and later to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia, is one of the strategic objectives.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and head of the Development and Infrastructure Company, Houshang Bazvand, during a test passenger train run on the Miyaneh–Ardabil railway line.

“This route could lead to an expansion of exchanges with the Caucasus and Russia,” he added.
