WH to host Gaza Peace Council meeting on Feb. 19

The White House intends to hold a meeting in Washington on February 19 for participants of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip settlement.

Axar.az reports, citing Axios, that “this will be the first meeting of the Peace Council and a conference for raising funds for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.”

It is reported that the White House hopes the meeting will help implement the second phase of the settlement plan in the Palestinian enclave.

The Washington administration began contacting leaders of several countries on February 6 to invite them and discuss logistical arrangements. The list of invited countries has not been disclosed.

The portal notes that plans for the meeting may change. It is also expected that U.S. President Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on February 18.
