Newcastle backs Eddie Howe ahead of Qarabag clash

England’s Newcastle club, which will face Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League playoff round, has decided the future of head coach Eddie Howe.

Axar.az reports that despite the club’s failure in the English League Cup, the “Magpies’” management continues to show full confidence in the 48-year-old coach.

The defeat to Manchester City in the semifinal and inconsistent Premier League results will not lead to Howe’s resignation.

Club officials stated that they remain committed to Eddie Howe’s long-term project, noting that he has been in charge of the team since 2021. The coach, who also enjoys strong fan support, will remain at the helm at least until the end of the season.

It should be noted that the first leg between Newcastle and Qarabag will take place in Baku on February 18, with the return match scheduled for February 24 in England.
