Zelensky: US wants Ukraine war ended by June

The United States wants the war in Ukraine to end by summer, by June, and is insisting on agreeing on a precise timetable for negotiations.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Why exactly by this summer? We understand that internal issues in the United States are having an impact and will undoubtedly become even more relevant for them. For the first time, the sides discussed that the most complex issues could be raised at a trilateral meeting of the leaders. However, certain preparatory elements are needed for this. It is important that such a format be included in the dialogue,” Zelensky said.

According to the president, Ukraine has confirmed that a meeting with the Russian delegation will take place in the United States in one week. The meeting proposed by the U.S. side is most likely to be held in Miami.

Zelensky also noted that the United States has confirmed its participation in monitoring a ceasefire:

“The military have held discussions and understand how a ceasefire would technically be monitored by Ukraine, Russia, and the United States if politicians decide to end the war. That is, the United States confirms its participation. As for Europe, this does not mean it will be excluded from the process.”
