Merz: Rules-based world order no longer exists

The previous world order based on international law and rules effectively no longer exists.

Axar.az reports that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said this in his opening speech at the 62nd Munich Security Conference.

According to him, the current global security system is on the verge of collapse.

“I am afraid we must state this even more clearly: this order — flawed as it was even in its best times — no longer exists.”

Merz noted that the international situation has entered a new phase characterized by an increase in open wars and conflicts.

The chancellor believes that ongoing processes are heightening tensions between states and reshaping the global balance faster than previously expected.
