Yerevan not seeking clash with Moscow

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan addressed journalists, touching upon Armenia’s relations with Russia and issues related to safeguarding sovereignty.

Axar.az reports, citing Teleqraf, that the speaker emphasized Yerevan is not interested in a military confrontation with Moscow, but maintains the right to defend its independence.

Simonyan expressed Armenia’s position on Russia as follows:

“We have neither the desire nor the capacity to wage war with Russia. Such a thing has never existed. However, we have the right to defend ourselves. We will protect our independence to the very end.”
