Okamura: Czech Republic to halt arms supplies to Kyiv

The Czech Republic plans to suspend the shipment of military aid and weapons to Ukraine. Parliament Speaker Tomio Okamura stated this on February 18.

Axar.az reports that Tomio Okamura, Speaker of the Czech Parliament stated: "We will no longer spend money on armaments, that is, on sending weapons to Ukraine," Okamura said.

He stressed that the Czech Republic will focus on strengthening its own defense capability.

"Spending in the amount of about 2% of GDP is enough for this, since the money intended for Ukraine will no longer be included there," the speaker of the parliament summed up.

On February 16, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that Ukraine had received about 4.4 million large-caliber ammunition as part of the Czech supply initiative. He also described the process as "extremely successful" and added that at least 15 states that financially supported the initiative believe so.
