US Boeing 787 enters Russian airspace over Murmansk

A Boeing 787 aircraft departing from the U.S. Andrews Air Force Base near Washington entered Russian airspace over Murmansk Oblast on the morning of February 20, according to Flightradar24 data.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, before entering Russian airspace, the plane flew over Greenland, Norway, and Finland. Tracking data shows the aircraft then passed over Arkhangelsk and Kirov Oblasts, and later near Ufa.

Around 10:00 Moscow time, the plane crossed Russian territory and entered Kazakhstan’s airspace.

Direct flights between Russia and the United States remain suspended. The U.S. was the first to impose restrictions on Russian carriers, and Russia closed its airspace to American airlines as a “reciprocal measure.”
