Trump sets 10-day ultimatum on Iran nuclear deal

US President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that a decision on Iran could come within the next 10 days.

Axar.az, citing The Independent, reports that speaking at the first meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, Trump said: “Good talks are being had. It's proven to be, over the years, not easy to make a meaningful deal with Iran. We have to make a meaningful deal, otherwise bad things happen.”

He added that developments would become clear “over the next, probably 10 days,” and stressed that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

His remarks came as Washington reinforces its military presence in the Middle East and follows intensive but inconclusive talks between U.S. and Iranian officials in Geneva this week.

Tensions have escalated further after Iran’s Supreme Leader threatened to target U.S. warships.
