US expels Iran’s UN deputy ambassador

The U.S State Department expelled Iran's deputy ambassador to the UN last December, citing national security concerns.

Axar.az informs, citing Axios, that the Iranian diplomat was asked to depart the U.S. under "section 13 procedures" — an internal State Department process to facilitate a quiet expulsion, rather than formally declaring someone "persona non grata."
