Armed man killed after breaching Mar-a-Lago security

Early Sunday morning, a 21-year-old man from North Carolina, Austin Tucker Martin, drove into the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago, carrying a shotgun and a gas can. Confronted by two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County deputy, he raised the shotgun in a threatening manner and was shot and killed.

Axar.az, citing AP, reports that the man had been reported missing days earlier, and a box for the weapon was found in his vehicle.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania were at the White House at the time.

Investigators are examining his motive and psychological profile.

This incident follows previous threats and assassination attempts against Trump, including a recent life sentence for a man who tried to shoot him during the 2024 campaign. Authorities are reviewing security footage from nearby residents and continue to monitor the case amid broader concerns about political violence in the U.S.
