US, Iran talks expected Friday if Iran submits proposal

U.S. negotiators are prepared to hold another round of talks with Iran in Geneva on Friday if Tehran submits a detailed nuclear proposal within 48 hours.

Axar.az, citing Axios, reports that envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who attended recent Israel-Syria and Ukraine summits, are advocating diplomacy before any military action.

The Trump administration has emphasized “zero enrichment” of uranium on Iranian soil but may consider “token enrichment” if Iran can prove it blocks all paths to a nuclear weapon.

Talks could also explore an interim agreement before a full deal.

Senator Lindsey Graham criticized advisers urging patience, arguing the U.S. should act against perceived threats. Officials warn President Trump could still order a military strike at any time, but diplomacy is currently being prioritized.
