The Israeli Army announced on Sunday that it had targeted senior leaders of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in a hotel in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Axar.az reports, citing Sky News Arabia, the Israeli army said in a statement that the Lebanese branch of the Quds Force serves as a communication channel between the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah.
The statement added that the Quds Force leaders targeted in Raouche “were planning attacks against Israel from Lebanon.”
Israeli army spokesperson Ella Wawiyeh told X:
“The Defense Forces recently carried out a precise, targeted strike on central leaders of the Lebanese branch of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who were operating in Beirut,” accusing them of “working to advance terrorist plots against the State of Israel and its citizens from within Lebanese territory.”
She emphasized that the Israeli army “will not allow Iranian terrorist elements to take root in Lebanese territory and will continue to precisely target and eliminate leaders of the Iranian terror regime wherever they operate.”
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on Sunday that 4 people were killed and 10 injured in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in a hotel in the Raouche area of Beirut.
Social media users and Lebanese news outlets circulated videos claimed to show the strike on the Ramada Hotel in Beirut.
Lebanese media cited an official saying that Hezbollah forces imposed a security cordon around the targeted hotel in Raouche.
