Freed Japanese national returns home via Azerbaijan

Japan's Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu said a Japanese national released by Iran was brought home to Japan via Azerbaijan.

Axar.az informs, citing Japanese media, two Japanese citizens were recently detained by Iranian authorities.

Motegi also said he is working to get the other detainee released as early as possible while keeping in contact with the family.

Note that, since the escalation began, 17 Japanese citizens have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
