Ukraine open to Easter ceasefire, Zelensky says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire with Russia during the Easter holiday.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, Zelensky emphasized that Kyiv is open to any form of truce, including a complete halt to hostilities, energy-related pauses, and measures ensuring food and energy security.

“We are ready to talk about any ceasefire… completely — so that neither missiles nor drones fly. No hitting infrastructure. We proposed all of this. And we are open. If the Russians are ready — please, we are ready,” Zelensky said, speaking to journalists.

He added that Ukraine will act symmetrically and will not strike Russian targets if its energy facilities are not attacked.

The president also suggested extending the ceasefire beyond the Easter period if full silence is achieved, highlighting Ukraine’s willingness to cooperate for a humanitarian pause amid ongoing conflict.
