Iran’s oil revenues nearly double amid Gulf war

Amid escalating tensions and rising hydrocarbon prices, Iran’s oil revenues have nearly doubled.

Axar.az reports, citing The Economist, that the third Gulf war, now in its fifth week, has disrupted the region’s oil supply, with the Strait of Hormuz largely closed and 15% of the world’s oil unable to reach customers.

Most Gulf states have slashed production, sharply reducing their export revenues.

Despite being hit on the battlefield, Iran continues to move its tankers through the strait and is earning nearly twice as much from oil sales each day compared with before U.S. and Israeli strikes began on February 28.
