Ukraine expects a U.S. delegation led by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, to visit Kyiv this month, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office.
Axar.az reports, citing Bloomberg, the delegation may include Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and is expected to arrive shortly after Orthodox Easter on April 12.
"Kushner, Witkoff, Lindsey Graham — those are the ones expected to come. Who else will be there — we’ll see," Budanov said. He added that the visit could result in stronger security assurances from the U.S. to prevent future Russian aggression.
Budanov stressed that Ukraine has already outlined its demands, and progress has been made on security guarantees.
"We set out what we want a long time ago. I think it will be implemented soon. What comes next is another question. But on security guarantees, we have definitely made progress — we’ve already moved forward," he said.
The visit is part of ongoing U.S. mediation efforts between Ukraine and Russia, as both sides remain far apart on the terms for a potential end to hostilities.
Budanov also noted that Kyiv has received requests from foreign allies to pause airstrikes on Russian oil refineries amid surging global fuel prices caused by the Iran war.
