Zangezur corridor crucial for Anatolia’s development

Cevdet Yilmaz described the Zangezur corridor as an important transport and logistics route that could stimulate the future development of Anatolian regions.

Axar.az, during his visit to Diyarbakir province, he outlined Turkiye’s plans to integrate eastern and southeastern regions into international trade networks.

He said three strategic logistics routes stand out: the “Development Road” project linking Turkiye to southern Iraq for cargo and energy transport; the Zangezur corridor aimed at strengthening the Middle corridor by ensuring direct connectivity between Turkiye and Turkic states; and the restoration of the Hejaz railway route connecting Turkiye, Syria, Jordan, and the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia.

Yilmaz emphasized that all three initiatives are significant not only economically but also for regional stability, stressing that sustainable development is impossible without strong trade links with neighboring countries.
