Trump says Iran war is 'very close to being over'

US President Donald Trump said the war between the United States and Iran is “very close” to ending as hostilities ease under a two-week ceasefire agreement.

Axar.az reports that Trump told FOX Business anchor Maria Bartiromo in an interview scheduled to air on Mornings with Maria on Wednesday:

“I think it’s close to over, yeah. I view it as very close to being over,” he said

On Monday, Trump said the United States imposed a naval blockade on all Iranian ports, marking a new escalation in the conflict after Washington agreed to stop bombing Iran last week.

Despite saying the war is nearing its end, Trump also stressed that the US is still not finished.

“If I pulled up stakes right now, it would take them 20 years to rebuild that country. And we’re not finished,” he said.

“We’ll see what happens. I think they want to make a deal very badly,” Trump added.
