The United States President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni over her position on Iran, saying he is “shocked” by her stance and disappointed in her approach.
Axar.az reports, “I am shocked by her. I thought she had courage, I was wrong," Trump said in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
He also said Meloni does not want to assist the United States in its efforts regarding Iran, stating that she is unwilling to support actions aimed at addressing what he described as the Iranian nuclear issue.
Trump added that Meloni’s position reflects a broader unwillingness to engage, saying Italy does not want to be involved despite its reliance on energy from the region.
