Ceasefire must end blockade and war escalation

A full ceasefire would only be meaningful if it is not violated through a naval blockade and what he described as “holding the world’s economy hostage,” and if what he called the escalation of war by “Zionists” on all fronts is stopped, Iran’s parliamentary speaker has said.

Axar.az reports that Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remarks on his X account regarding the conditions for a ceasefire.

He added that reopening the Strait of Hormuz would not be possible in the event of a serious violation of a ceasefire.

“They did not achieve their goals through military aggression, and they will not achieve them through coercion either. The only way is to accept the rights of the Iranian people,” he said.
