Azerbaijani wrestler Gunay Qurbanova has won a bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, Albania.

Axar.az reports, competing in the 59 kg weight category, the athlete faced Russia’s Marta Getmanova in the bronze medal match. Qurbanova secured a 7–5 victory, claiming third place.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 25 wrestlers at the European Championships, which will continue until April 26. Previously, Greco-Roman wrestlers Həsrət Cəfərov (67 kg) and Qurban Qurbanov (82 kg) became European champions, while Nihat Məmmədli (60 kg), Rəşad Məmmədov (55 kg), and İslam Abbasov (87 kg) also earned bronze medals.
