Ukraine has not received ceasefire proposal for May 9

The President of Ukraine has clearly stated that, as of today, the Ukrainian side has not received any such proposals regarding a ceasefire for May 9.

Axar.az reports, citing UNN, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made the statement.

“This is another manipulation. This is another attempt by the Russians, first and foremost, to please the Americans and demonstrate an element of constructiveness,” Sybiha said.

He added that Ukraine remains committed to peace efforts and has repeatedly expressed readiness for a ceasefire, emphasizing the need for steps toward ending the war and achieving a long-term truce. According to him, Russia’s announcement should be seen as a diplomatic maneuver and part of a public relations campaign aimed at a domestic audience.

It is noted that a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump took place on April 29, during which the issue of a ceasefire for Victory Day was discussed.
