Trump expands U.S. sanctions on Cuban government

The United States has expanded sanctions against the Cuban government.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order broadening existing restrictions on Cuba.

The new measures target individuals, entities, and affiliates that support the Cuban government’s security apparatus or are involved in corruption and serious human rights violations. They also extend to agents, officials, and supporters of the government.

The order further authorizes secondary sanctions against those who conduct or facilitate transactions with sanctioned individuals or entities.
