Trump reiterates Iran “wants to make a deal,” but says he is “not satisfied” with current proposal.
Axar.az reports, citing CBS, U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that Iran is seeking a negotiated settlement with the United States, but signaled he is not ready to accept the terms currently being discussed.
“So, they want to make a deal, but I don’t,” Trump told reporters as he departed the White House for Florida. “I’m not satisfied with it. We’ll see what happens. Iran wants to make a deal because they have no military left, essentially. And, they want to make a deal, but I’m not satisfied.”
His comments come as diplomatic exchanges continue through Pakistani mediators. According to Pakistani officials, Tehran delivered a revised response earlier Friday to the latest U.S. amendments on a potential agreement aimed at ending the conflict and addressing regional security concerns, including the future of the Strait of Hormuz.
The previous Iranian proposal had sought to postpone discussions on nuclear issues to a later stage—an approach the Trump administration has rejected.
Trump has repeatedly insisted that any deal must include firm guarantees that Iran will not pursue a nuclear weapon.
