Erdogan welcomed by Tokayev in Astana

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived at the Independence Palace in Astana, where he was welcomed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Tokayev personally greeted him upon arrival.

Following the official ceremony, military bands performed the national anthems of both countries, after which Erdogan inspected the honor guard. The two leaders then posed for the press and proceeded to a bilateral meeting.

Erdogan is expected to chair the 6th meeting of the Turkiye–Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, followed by the signing of bilateral agreements and a joint press conference.

The Turkish delegation includes several senior officials such as Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yashar Guler, and other cabinet members.
