Erdogan presents handwritten Quran at Yassawi Mausoleum

During a visit to Turkistan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented a handwritten Quran manuscript to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.

Axar.az reports, citing Kazinform, the manuscript was created by Ottoman calligrapher Ahmed Shemseddin Karahisari.

The visit took place during a joint tour of the mausoleum by the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev; Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov; Turkiye, and Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is regarded as one of the most significant spiritual, historical, and cultural landmarks of the Turkic world.
