Putin to visit Beijing next week after Xi–Trump summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Beijing next week, just days after Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded a high-profile summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports, citing the South China Morning Post, the one-day visit is scheduled for May 20 and is described as part of routine high-level engagement between Moscow and Beijing, with no major ceremonial events expected.

The trip will come shortly after Xi’s closely watched talks with Trump, which focused on trade, Taiwan, Iran, and global energy security, including the Strait of Hormuz.
