President Donald Trump has warned that “the clock is ticking” for Iran, saying the country faces significantly harsher U.S. military action if it fails to present an improved nuclear deal proposal.
Axar.az reports, in a phone interview with Axios, Trump said Iran must “get moving fast” or face consequences, adding that any future strikes could be “much harder” than previous ones.
"We want to make a deal. They are not where we want them to be. They will have to get there or they will be hit badly, and they don't want that," Trump said.
The warning comes as U.S. officials say military options are again under active consideration after Iran rejected key U.S. demands. Trump is expected to convene his national security team in the Situation Room this week to review possible responses.
Trump also spoke Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid rising regional tensions. Officials say high-level consultations have included Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
Mediation efforts are ongoing through regional intermediaries, while Trump signaled he is awaiting a revised Iranian proposal, stressing there is still a narrow window to reach a deal before escalation.
