The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on nine Cuban individuals and the Cuban Intelligence Directorate.

Axar.az reports that this information was published on the official website of the U.S. Treasury Department.

According to the statement, those added to the sanctions list include several senior Cuban officials: Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez, Roberto Tomas Morales Ojeda, Jose Miguel Gomez del Vallin, Rosabel Gamon Verde, Vicente de la O Levy, Marin Arevich, Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, Raul Villar Kessel, and Joaquin Quintas Sola.

In addition, OFAC designated the Directorate of Intelligence of Cuba, also known as the “DGI” or “G2,” as a sanctioned entity.

The Treasury Department also noted updates to related designations within Cuba’s Ministry of Interior and the National Revolutionary Police, as part of the broader sanctions list revision.
