Syria to attend G7 summit in France as guest nation

Syria will attend the upcoming G7 summit in France next month as a guest country.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, that three sources familiar with the matter said Syria will be represented by President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

According to the information, the invitation was delivered to Syrian Finance Minister Yisr Barnieh, who participated in the group’s financial talks earlier this week in Paris.

This will mark Syria’s first participation in a G7 summit since the forum was established in 1975.
