Iran, US move closer to potential ceasefire deal

Iran is considering a U.S. response amid ongoing negotiations aimed at ending the war, with expectations of a potential agreement announcement within hours.

Axar.az reports, citing Al Arabiya, that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Tehran has received U.S. views through Pakistan-mediated talks and is currently reviewing them, with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi facilitating the exchange of messages between the two sides.

According to sources, work is underway to finalize the wording of a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran, with Pakistan continuing its mediation efforts.

The reported draft includes provisions such as a comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts, an end to attacks on infrastructure, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and the phased lifting of U.S. sanctions in exchange for Iran’s compliance.

Sources also indicated that a new round of talks may be held in Islamabad after the Hajj season, while the agreement could be announced in the coming hours if outstanding issues are resolved.
