Germany is taking a clearly anti-Russian position, views Russia as the main threat, and is preparing to enter into a potential conflict with it.

Axar.az reports, citing an interview with Vesti, Russia’s Ambassador to Germany, Sergey Nechayev, said that the German political establishment has designated Russia as its main long-term strategic adversary.

"Germany participates in all sanctions packages against Russia, both economic and financial, is increasing its military potential, and its leaders emphasize that the German army should become the strongest conventional army in Europe," he said.

"There is also the arming of Ukraine with all possible types of weapons within the framework of agreements. So, unfortunately, we can only state one thing: Germany is taking a clearly anti-Russian position, sees Russia as the main threat, and is preparing to enter into a conflict with us, as they claim, around 2029–2030, when we supposedly will attack either NATO as a whole or one of its member states,” the ambassador added.
