Zelensky confirms strike on Russian chemical plant

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed a strike on a major Russian military-industrial facility in the Perm region.

Axar.az reports that in a post on his X account, Zelensky thanked the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) for carrying out the operation against the “Metafrax Chemicals” enterprise located around 1,700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

"I am grateful to the Security Service of Ukraine for striking one of Russia’s important military-industrial enterprises. The distance from our border is 1,700 kilometers – Perm Krai.

Metafrax Chemicals is an important part of Russia’s chemical industry. The company’s products supply dozens of other Russian military production facilities, including aircraft and drones, missile engines, and explosives," he said.

The Ukrainian president claimed that production at the facility has been halted following the strike.

“This is an important long-range sanction of ours,” Zelensky added.
