Xi calls for closer China–Pakistan partnership

Seventy-five years after the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Pakistan have enjoyed mutual understanding, trust and support, and have forged an unbreakable traditional friendship.

Axar.az reports, citing China's MFA, Xi Jinping made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Xi added that strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation between the two countries have strongly promoted the development of both nations. He stressed that, regardless of changes in the international landscape, China will always prioritize the development of China–Pakistan relations in its neighborhood diplomacy.

He also noted his appreciation for a letter from Pakistani students studying at Tianjin University, describing them as future contributors to cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Shehbaz Sharif is currently on an official visit to China.
